Original Papers: French's Church Furniture and Decorations. 98 FRENCH'S CHURCH FURNITURE AND DECORATIONS. THE beautiful altar-tables, carpets, and other ecclesiastical fittings which were to be seen, a short time ago, on the north side of the main avenue of the Exhibition, besides attracting much attention, exhibit some features which we think deserve special notice. Mr. French, who has paid much attention to the design and material of church furniture, and has printed several pamphlets upon the subject, is not a blind follower of the mediieval school, but exhibits an acute eye for the errors as well as the beauties in the productions of the middle ages, and his manufactures have been, in his own words, "prepared with express reference to the uses of the Church
