ASSISTANT PROFESSOR UW-Madison Department of Art: 1996- AREA: Art education 1995 PhD Indiana University, Bloomington, IN 1989 M Ed Millersville University, Millersville, PA 1969 BS Millersville State College, Millersville, PA Since coming to Madison, my primary creative responsibility has been in the areas of research and publication. The art that I do is, therefore, mainly for my own pleasure and use. Cloisonn6 enamel appeals to me for its jewellike quality and transparent depths. My work links those attributes with subjects derived from the natural world, which is an ongoing source of discovery. With recent engagement with the mid- west geological community, I have also begun to incorporate natural materials, such as rock slabs and crystals into my work. 42
